    "Sophia,

We have returned home and we are going through our many pictures (around 700). We had a wonderful visit to your beautiful country and I must say that working with you and the tour guides made it even more special. When we return to that side of the world, we will be contacting you again. We still need to come to Guilin and see the beautiful sights that you see every day.

Angela was great. She is a pleasant and pretty young lady and she knows so much about the sights in Chengdu. My son really liked talking to her.

Peter was very good but his English can use some improvement. He was extremely patient with us and accommodated our needs wonderfully.

May was also very good and professional. It is obvious she knows her subject and she is a great sales person.

I look forward to using your services again. Thank you for everything and thank you for the gift. It is hanging on the wall in my home. I think of you every time I see it.

    Sincerely,

    Andersen "

[Chengdu Research Base Of Giant Panda Breeding]
Home to giant pandas, red (or lesser) pandas, and other endangered species. Visit the nursery to see the highly successful breeding program, bamboo groves and shady walkways, to view the pandas at rest and play. There's a wealth of information and a panda museum in this 230-hectare park 10 km (6 miles) north of Chengdu.

    “This is a must-see!”
    Reviewed June 13, 2012 NEW
We loved seeing this site and to learn about pandas from birth to death was fantastically interesting. The sheer number of pandas in the breeding station was amazing. We have a breeding pair in our zoo in Washington, DC, but they are not nearly as interesting as the variety of ages in Chengdu. This is a must-see for children of all ages. My grandchildren were thrilled with the post cards and T-shirts of the pandas and asked a lot of questions. I wish we could have taken them all there.

    [Wenshu Yuan Monastery]
Visit the Wenshu temple and spend time in its teahouse to experience a bit of real Chengdu life. Wenshu Temple, has a history of over 1000 years, and is the largest and the best-preserved Buddhist temple in Chengdu. Being dedicated as the personification of the leader and the wisdom of Buddhism, Wenshu Temple has been a destination for Buddhist pilgrims for centuries, as well as a famous tourist site that features many Buddhist cultural relics.

“Lovely and Interesting Temple with Great Garden”
    Reviewed May 15, 2012
As a working monastery, this might be the most interesting temple in the city. It also has a lovely garden where local hang out (the old men like to bring their bird cages with them so their birds can get some fresh air).

    [Jinli Ancient Street]
Once the commercial heart of the old kingdoms this ancient street has been fully restored in traditional Sichuan style. Picturesque, bustling, and cheerful, you can sample local arts and craft, traditional Chinese goods, food and delicacies, and even a Starbucks, local style.

    “A Must See”
    Reviewed June 21, 2012
This small street has many street vendors on each side, and you feel as if you are really seeing old China. There were plenty of opportunities for obtaining souvenirs, and just strolling along and viewing the foods displayed was an education. this street is very close to the Wenshu Temple,

    [Sichuan Opera]
is an important part of Chengdu culture. Besides the normal singing, and martial arts, Sichuan Opera has many unique features that set it apart, features such as fire breathing, changing faces, and juggling pottery.

Face changing is the highlight of Sichuan Opera. Face changing is a magical art. Actors change more than 10 masks in less than 20 seconds! By raising the hand, swinging a sleeve or tossing the head, an actor uses different masks to show different emotions, expressing invisible and intangible feelings through visible and tangible masks. From green to blue, red, yellow, brown, black, dark and gold, these masks show fear, tension, relaxation, slyness, desperation, outrage, and so on.

    “a must see”
    Reviewed September 17, 2011
This is actually not an opera, no singing is involved, but rather a program including several shows, dances, shadow theatre, face-changing opera, etc Sichuan face-changing opera is in itself famous in China, and can be seen only in Chengdu and the province of Sichuan.

    [Leshan Giant Buddha]
Leshan is 162 kilometers (about 100 miles) from Chengdu. East of Leshan City, is home to the Leshan Giant Buddha Scenic Spot, which was named after the giant statue of Buddha. It is actually a statue of Maitreya, a fat laughing Bodhisattva who symbolizes brightness and happiness. It was included on the UNESCO's World Heritage list in 1996. Leshan Giant Buddha Scenic Spot is full of beautiful natural and historical sites, with the Giant Buddha being the most distinguished one. The best place to view the Leshan Giant Buddha is from Mt. Lingyun, so the giant carving is often called the Lingyun Giant Buddha.

    [Mt. Emei] Emei Shan
It is located in the south central Sichuan Province and within the borders of E’mei Mountain City in the southwest brim of Sichuan Basin. It is 120 kilometers away from the provincial capital of Sichuan Province, Chengdu, in the north and 38 kilometers away from the famous historical and cultural city, Leshan. E’mei Mountain originates from the north range of Kunlun Mountain, which is composed of Qin Mountain Range and Min Mountain, while Min Mountain begins from Gonglai Mountain Range, which winds its way to E’mei and rises up as the three high and steep peaks of Golden Summit, Thousand Buddha Peak and Ten Thousand Buddha Peak, standing erect between Dadu River and Qingyi River and being the most grand and graceful in the southwest.

    [Huanglong National Park]
Huanglong is located on the easternmost of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. It belongs to Songpan county, Aba Tibetan and Qiang autonomous prefecture, Sichuan province. It is 300 kilometers far away from Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province. And Jiuzhaigou Valley is as its neighbor. It is close to the boundary of Sichuan, Gansu, and Shanxi province. The whole interest area looks like a golden dragon by overlooking. That is the reason why the place calls Huanglong, which means a golden dragon in Chinese.

“A good walk with lots to see”
    Reviewed October 26, 2010
Visited Oct 2010. The road has been completely relaid and is in superb condition. Excellent route through the mountains. On arrival take the cable car to the top and dress in layers. The walkway is wooden, well designed and constructed. When walking at altitude to the top pool, take your time. Make certain your camera battery is charged with a spare memory card. Take a polorizer if you have one. We certainly enjoyed our visit.

“It's like four seasons in one day!!! Tip: you can do it in one day”
    Reviewed March 29, 2012
This is my second trip to Jiuzhaigou, it's a definite must-see if you are in Sichuan or on your way to Tibet. It's like experience all four seasons in one day. The top is all covered in snow, then as you go down, it changes to Autumn clours, then it's all green and lush like Summer, then at the bottom everything felt so crisp just like Spring!!!
Many people here say that you need more than one day to explore the whole park, which is true if you like to hike up and down the whole place while soaking in the natural beauty. However, in my honest opinion, one day is enough.

    [Mount Qincheng]
Mt. Qingcheng, located in the southwest of the Dujiangyan Irrigation Project of China in Sichuan Province, is one of the most famous Taoist mountains in China. It is also a very attractive and intriguing scenic spot that is covered by luxuriant and verdant trees. The mountain, which is surrounded by numerous peaks and is shaped like a city, is dubbed 'the most peaceful and secluded mountain under heaven' and combines perfectly with its evergreen scenery.

    “Great Walk!”
    Reviewed June 10, 2012
First off, Mount QinCheng is divided into the front mountain and the back mountain. The front mountain is a touristy trail with souvenir carts at the side and dozens of temples to visit.
I personally prefer the more quiet back mountain. It makes for a really good day hiking trip. The lush greenery and the (relatively) easy footpath makes this one of the best place to go for a hike. Along the way, you'll pass narrow mountain passes and cascading waterfall. The flora and fauna in the mountains were really nice too.I think bird watchers will go mad at the amount of birds they can spot on the way up the mountain.
