Their houses are not built on stilt rather directly on the ground. Due to its proximity to Doi Suthep this particular village is slightly more commercial and less traditional. Doi Pui was once famous for opium cultivation. It is 1500 meters above the sea level. Trip continues on to Wat Doi Suthep Temple. Driving up, offers a panoramic view of Chiang Mai city. Later on, embark to the San Kamphaeng district, heart of the silk and cotton home industries, to witness the fascinating process of making and weaving these popular fabrics. Continue on the Bor Sang, the umbrella village, where the delicate Thai paper umbrellas are produced and hand-painted. From here, onwards to Thai Celadon, about 6kms north of Chiang Mai, where exquisite ceramics are produced. Since they originally migrated from South China, the physical features of the tribe are similar to Chinese. They prefer large families and average about 8 in a family. They practice shifting agriculture. Mostly planting upland rice, corn and soybeans. Generally you will find that the womenfolk's works harder than the men. A trait similar with most hill tribes. Their houses are not built on stilt rather directly on the ground. Due to its proximity to Doi Suthep this particular village is slightly more commercial and less traditional. Doi Pui was once famous for opium cultivation. It's 1500 meters above the sea level. Trip continues on to Wat Doi Suthep Temple. Driving up offers a panoramic view of Chiang Mai city. Later on, embark to the San Kamphaeng district, heart of the silk and cotton home industries, to witness the fascinating process of making and weaving these popular fabrics. Continue on the Bor Sang, the umbrella village, where the delicate Thai paper umbrellas are produced and hand-painted. From here, onwards to Thai Celadon, about 6kms north of Chiang Mai, where exquisite ceramics are produced. These are modeled on the Sawankhalok pottery that used to be made hundreds of years ago at Sukhothai and exported all over the region. With its deep, cracked glazed finish the style is very distinctive and some pieces are exceptionally beautiful. Thus the name of the temple was derived. Then: we continue to visit Karen Hill Tribe by boat and after that we back to the hotel and free at leisure. Overnight in Chiang Rai Day 02: Full Day Tour Doi Mae Salong – Doi Tung. (B)Depart from the hotel by the air-con van to Doi Mae Salong where you will visit the Chinese village on the mountaintop and buy some of the local product for example; tea, coffee and fruit for the gifts. Along the way stop at the Hot Spa and see the nature which offers the beautiful scenery. Usually in the cool season the Thai Cherry trees are in full bloom and you can touch the mountain mists here. Lunch will be served at local restaurant. Continue the trip to the highest peak on the Thai-Myanmar border. Doi Tung provides an opportunity to view enrooted many different Lahu and Akha village as well as terraced farming areas and see from distance the Princess Mother's frigid flower Garden. Doi Tung temple, built in A.D.1493, is located at the peak. Its scenery reminds one of Switzerland, features many unique images and temple architecture over looking the entire northern rice field plain. Return to the hotel. Overnight in Chiang RaiDay 03: Chiang Rai – Chiang Mai. (B) (By land)After breakfast and check out from hotel, we will drive to visit Opium House, at bent of the mighty Maekhong River and see the scenery view of three countries (Thai, Myanmar and Laos). Visit ancient city of Chiang Saen, where ruins of numerous, temples, stupas, Buddha images are still to be seen artifacts and archaeological finds exhibited at the National Museum. Lunch at local restaurant and after that we proceed to Chiang Mai. On the way we will visit the most beautiful temple in Thailand, Wat Longkun. The whole building is crystal white and serve multi amazing statute outlook. It is now very famous and popular in Chiang Rai. Then, visit to Mae Kha Jan Hot Spring is divided into three hot springs and an average temperature is about 80 degree Celsius, it can boil eggs within 3 minutes. Opposite Mae Kha Jan Hot spring are many private mineral bathrooms. After this place, we go straight to your hotel in Chiang Mai, check in and free at leisure.Overnight in Chiang Mai Day 04: Chiang Mai Full Day Elephant Safari. (B)Breakfast at the hotel and then we visit the Elephant Camp at Mae Taman Camp, to see the 'Elephants at Work’. You have a chance to ride the elephants, crossing the river and into the forest.
