All the emperors of Mughal dynasty had the common enthusiasm for beautiful art and gardening. The gardens are mainly of four major types: palace, terraced, waterfront and tomb gardens. Taj Mahal is considered as the best among the 11 Mughal gardens of India. These gardens are some of the best tourist spots of India and huge crowd pullers. The Mughal garden in Rashtrapati Bhavan is also of great importance. People from various parts visit this place throughout the year. Here you have 10 websites to help and guide you in gathering information about the various Mughal gardens of India.Carpet weaving factory: ShankaracharyaTemple is an ancient temple that finds its origin in the 4th century. Located on Gopadari Hill in the south-east of Srinagar, ShankaracharyaTemple lies at a height of 1100 feet above surface level of the city. The temple is easily accessible from the city by regular buses from Srinagar. In order to ensure a comfortable journey, one can opt for taxis that are readily available throughout the city. “A hand-knotted carpet of Kashmir is perhaps the most coveted of textile weaves; a passionately ornate work of art.” Carpet weaving is said to have been introduced in Kashmir from Persia and Central Asia. A little over five centuries ago Zain-ul-Abidin (1423-1474 AD) brought carpet weavers from Samarkand. After flourishing for some time the craft appears to have become extinct only to reappear in Emperor Janangir’s time. A Kashmiri Muslim Akhun Mulla Hussain Rahnuma went to perform the Haj pilgrimage via Central Asia. On his way back he visited Andijan in Persia where carpets were manufactured. Overnight at AgraThe Taj Mahal is the epitome of Mughal art and one of the most famous buildings in the world. Yet there have been few serious studies of it and no full analysis of its architecture and meaning. Ebba Koch, an important scholar, has been permitted to take measurements of the complex and has been working on the palaces and gardens of Shah Jahan for thirty years and on the Taj Mahal itself—the tomb of the emperor's wife, Mumtaz Mahal—for a decade.Fort (Emperor Akbar commissioned the construction of this fort in 1565, although additions were continued to be made till the time of his grandson Shah Jahan. The Fort houses some exquisite buildings within like the Moti Masjid, Diwan – e- Am, Diwan – e – Khas, and Sheesh Mahal.)Tomb of Itmad - ud- daula:One of the lesser-known monuments of Agra, the tomb of Itimad ud Daulah is sometimes called the 'Baby Taj' because of its resemblance to Agra's most famous monument. However Itmad ud Daulah's Tomb was built before the Taj Mahal. A number of its stylistic features, such as a tomb in white marble surrounded by a formal garden and the use of inlaywork in marble to create floral or geometric designs, inspired similar features of the Taj Mahal. You can see the beautiful tomb of Itmad ud Daulah, on tours to Agra with Agra Hub.Day 12: Agra-Fatehpur Sikri-DelhiAfter breakfast drive back to Delhi on the way visit Fatehpur Sikri built.Transfer to international airport for flight to onward destination.atehpur Sikri: Built during the second half of the 16th century by the Emperor Akbar, Fatehpur Sikri (the City of Victory) was the capital of the Mughal Empire for only some 10 years.
