After organizing a two week visit to Japan we decided to add a few days in Korea because we want to and it is such a short jet ride away from just about anywhere in Japan. The two countries share a very long historical(cool), cultural(very cool), religious(Buddhism plus) and violent(not so cool) history that makes them a very interesting combined travel experience that I would recommend to any traveler. After much consideration we went with Novaland Tours for our Korean visit primarily because of the extraordinary assistance of our online consulatant, Lillian Lin. We actually added several days to our plans for our Korean trip after discussing our many visit options with Lillian. She was patient, professional, responsive and thoughtful at all times. Lillian organized all of our in-country air, train and tour transport which included airport pick-up and drop-off, small group tours(2-5) in and around Seoul and Busan and bus tours on Jeju Island. All of our itinerary was excellently planned by Lillian working with local providers and then executed with perfection in all ways by the tour staff in such a way that we always felt comfortable and like we were very welcome as friends and, maybe, even family. Ms. Jina and Robert in Seoul along with Mrs. Kim in Busan were excellent tour guides with a thorough knowledge of their respective locations and wonderful hosts for their country. The Jeju tours were large group so we really didn't get the personal contact with the guides that we had elsewhere but they were competent, friendly and knowledgeable. Korea is a peninsula which has been over run by Russia, China, the Mongols and Japan among others over the centuries and eons. Japan occupied and ruled Korea from 1910 to 1945. The two Korea's today are the direct result of the treaties ending World War !! and "temporary" Soviet and USA bifurcation of the country pending Korean self rule and the subsequent Korean War in which China joined N. Korean forces against U.N. forces. The United Nations Korean War Cemetery in Busan is a heart rending and sad reminder of this part of Korea's history. S. Korea today is a reflection of this history of other nations occupation over the eons. However, they also have a rich and unique Korean culture which you will see in the cultural villages, dances, historical dress, Buddhist temples, public markets, museums, etc. Korea is a vibrant, interesting, traditional and modern experience. We have traveled extensively, including in Asia, and Korea is a must see. It's economy seems to be coming back as is the world in general. They are building high-rise apartment buildings like crazy but with much more architectural appeal than China. They have a very good highway system and there are lots of newer cars on the freeways and they drive on the right side of the road for all you USA tourists. However, the traditional is also very important to Koreans and they are aware of their past and its importance while they build a modern economy. Major corporations play an extraordinary role in Korea as does the K-Pop music, Korean Drama industry and other cutting edge Asian entertainments...tourists from other Asian countries flock to Korea for all of these attractions, shopping and the more traditional. Bus loads of Chinese tourists come to S. Korea to play and shop as their economy improves. Given this tourism influx S. Korea is a multi-national experience in which you share your tour and personal time with people from throughout the world. Go to Korea...check in with Lillian at Novaland. Include Seoul, Busan and Jeju on your itinerary. Have a good time!!! Visited November 2014

1. How is our service throughout your tour from any aspects you feel? Such as: My work, such as the scenic spots’ arrangement, etc; - It was a very pleasant experience to have you as my coordinator. You were very easy to communicate with and you were very responsive and efficient with changes, questions and what not. you were very clear and gave good feedback. little issues i encountered: 1.) in the hotel Arrangement, we weren't informed with : the 3 pax 3 bedroom OSAKA VISTA HOTEL was in 3 separate floors. i suggest that this guest be informed with this as i was a bit suprised. 2.) Check out time at Hakone Hotel was 11pm.. we were not informed of the check out time and i guess they tried to tell us one hour before check out time through phone but we could not understand each other we failed to check by 11am so we were charged 1000yen per room. maybe guests can be informed of standard check out time in Japan and that there will be cost if passed the time. 3.) Since we know we are going to be picked up 12:30PM , we thought we could have lunch at Hakone Hotel.. but lunch was not served. So this is when i contacted you to contact Lilian if they can pick us up earlier so we can eat. THANKS SO MUCH for helping me with this. you were very responsive :) Tour guides: their attitude, level of expertise (knowledge of the attractions), etc; am sure you have an idea with my sentiments on tour guides. honestly, it was a bit of waste because Tokyo and Mt Fuji tour guides were not good at all. they failed to spark our interest on the whatabouts of the place, people, culture, etc. David (my fuji tourist guide), even just left us to go around the area and also waited in the bus for some parts. crazy i think hehe. Kyoto tour guide is the BEST! we were all so happy with him. the kids loved him and he was able to answer all our questions so clearly and thoroughly. he was very very helpful with a lot of things as well. Drivers’ attitude and how about the transportations?; all drivers were okay except . Their attitude were all very helpful and honest, nothing got lost or anything. excpet that our tokyo driver dropped us off the street to walk to the hotel even though the hotel had a loading and unloading area. It was a bit of a hassle to bring all our things and kids with all the people at SHibuya crossing area. Transportation/Bus is okay... everything seems to be working well. it was nice that we had a lot of space to ourselves. Hotels: how do you feel about the each hotel? The Hotel locations are absolutely perfect. the food and space is really good with the price. all are easy, convenient and very clean. And any other words you would like to say to me. THANKS SO MUCH!!! oh can i request from lilian some of our family pictures :) 2. Where can we improve to be better and stronger? i guess better TOur Guides :) 3. Any other valuable comments, travel experience and happy moments you may have. A lot of happy moments. I am really greateful Lilian was there. she was indeed very very very helpful, pleasant, nice, and patient with us :)

Emma, I really appreciate your concern about us and the fact that you want us to be completely satisfied. We had a very good day today. We visited all the places in your program and more. Kim took us to a dinner of our choice. The room temperature was adjusted, as you have suggested, by opening the window. We are looking forward to the trip tomorrow and the ride to Seoul. By the way, are we going to meet you personally in Seoul? We would like that very much, so that we will have the chance to thank you in person. Best regards, Michael Perry. Emma, We have arrived home safely. We would like to thank you again for the trip you have organized. We enjoyed it very much.

Dear Emma, We are back in Singapore after a wonderful and memorable trip to Seoul and Busan. The accommodation and food were well located and the service was good. Please convey our thanks to the guides, Mr Cho of Seoul and Mrs Kim of Busan who were knowledgeable and considerate. Our only negative experience was being kept waiting on 2 occasions for almost an hour each time by the drivers - once by younger the tour guide in Seoul, and the other time by the elderly driver taking us to the airport. Otherwise, the trip went well and we enjoyed the magnificent scenery and interesting sites. Regards, Latha Nair

Our group consisted of 10 people aged 22 to 95, and Joanna at Novaland Tours consulted with us in great detail so that all the participants had plenty to do and see. It turned out to be a perfect trip. Our guide Mr. Yoon was always cheerful, had lots of information and answered our numerous questions. He also pushed the wheelchair for our senior up and down hills. He introduced us to local Korean cuisine. The driver Mr. Lee was skillful and the bus spacious. We enjoyed all the sight seeing and all the hotels. Everything went smoothly and was enjoyed by all of us.

Hi Alice, Thank you for arranging the tour for us. Glad to provide feedback that might help you improve your services or for whatever purpose it may serve. The tour in itself was great. I love the fact that we are able to customize the tour according to our needs and preferences. I appreciate you being able to provide us with alternatives based on our budget. The Tokyo City tour you customized was packed and practical considering our limited time in Japan. Did not have any complaints with the Mt. Fuji tour your arranged through Sunrise Tours. Would have loved to have been informed though that Disneyland on a weekend is not the best idea, as there were literally thousands of people which resulted to us being able to only enjoy 1 ride. Nevertheless, we enjoyed it. Really appreciated as well your hands on and timely response to my emails. My suggestions for improvement: - Send at least a day in advance the name and contact details of Driver to be assigned for each day of the tour. - Lilisu was very friendly and accommodating, and tried to answer all of our questions, however, I feel she needs to be more organized and knowledgeable of the tour and sites she presents to the tour group. She seemed to be new at her job, and was not very familiar with lay-out of the Tsukiji Market, Tokyo Tower, Sensoji, etc. Hope this helps. Really had a great time in Japan, and looking forward to doing business with Novaland again in the future. Thank you, Diane

Hi Emma, The trip was great and memorable. We both enjoyed the tours and the time spent in Korea. The Tour Guides Mr. Lee and Mr. Chul has been very informative in terms of the history and information about the palaces, Nami island, the village, etc. Please see comments in purple below. 1. How is our service throughout your tour from any aspects you feel? Such as our travel consultant, tour guides, drivers or others’ attitude; transportation, scenic spots’ arrangement; and any other words you would like to say to me. The Travel Consultants were very helpful in giving their proposals. It is amazing how quick their responses are to my customization of tours. They have also recommend other locations to fill in for the tour. I am very satisfied with the tours that was proposed. Also, the tip on gratitude for tour guides was also helpful since the amount given in the Philippines is different from Seoul. J Mr. Lee has been very informative with our city tour. He would recommend when to take a break and help us in taking picture. What I like about him is that, he is able to find good Korean restaurants and gives us time to go around on our own to look at some stores and shops. Probable what I didn’t like but not that major is when we had to park. I was expecting that he would be dropping us in one spot while he looks for parking. Mr. Chul is amazing! He took us to Nami Island and took pictures of all the iconic spots in the island. He also bought some bread which was delicious. Also, he explained the history of Nami and how it was developed. J For Day 3, Mr. Lee accompanied us to the spots of available rides. Although it was raining, he was able to take nice pictures of us and we still got to see the whole everland. Hotel transfers from Airport to hotel was fine. From Hotel to Airport, we were a bit annoyed since the driver was driving slow and we were swerving because he was watching the news while driving. But all in all, the trip was the best we had so farJ 2. Where can we improve to be better and stronger? So far, everything was great. We don’t have any complaints. We enjoyed every minute of it J 3. Any other valuable comments, travel experience and happy moments you may have. Keep up the good work! And Thank you for the extensive planning.

Hi Lillian, Sorry I have taken so long to get back to you. Thank you for organising out holiday which was enjoyed by all. No hiccups but perhaps a few comments both positive and negative. · Seoul – Plaza Hotel perfect location although the transfer driver had trouble finding it, we drove around the block twice as there is no obvious signage at the front. View from the room to the Palace etc was wonderful. First two days tours were perfect and informative good guide. The DMZ was very informative and a great experience. Our guide was not aware that we were taking the train and did not have the tickets, he had to call your office and have them sent to the hotel. The tour on our return to Seoul to the Changedeokgung Palace was good where the guide provided a lot more information which built on the first guides details of the palaces. However, the Fortress visit was disappointing as the guide seemed to rush us and we saw only the wall near the carpark and were not made aware of the extent of the fortress nor did we use the train/tram to go the hill area. · Gyeongju Station- taxi drivers were most helpful and organised 2 taxis. Yangdong a bit disappointing as unfortunately most of the good houses were not open. Anapji Pond (at dusk) was great, Tumuli Park interesting. Heinsa Temple was a long way to go but again interesting. Although we added the Persimmon Wine Tunnel to our itinerary it was the most disappointing of our whole trip and therefore we cannot recommend people to go there. · Busan – Haeundae Hotel was a very tired and we suggest you find other hotels. Tongdosa Temple was an experience as it is an operating temple with Monks going about their daily prayer rituals, which we were able to be involved in. Our airport transfer guide to go to Jeju had a sign in Chinese which we could not read and therefore we ran nearly 1hr late and nearly missed our flight. It is essential that these mistakes do not happen. · Jeju – Our guide was absolutely perfect and we can recommend her highly. She rearranged our itinerary to suit the weather and added to and took away sites as if she knew what our preferences would be and this was perfect. Trick Art Museum, Loveland (added by our guide), Seongsan Sunrise Peak, Manjang Cave, Mysterious Road were all great, Hallim Park however was disappointing. I again thank you for your organisation and wish you well in your career. Kind regards and have a nice day Peter

Hi Alice, I thought the service provided was excellent and was very impressed with how you responded to the date change at the last minute. Our tour guide, Ms Kim, was wonderful. She was so sweet and we enjoyed the day with her immensely. The driver was very nice as well and efficiently drove us to all the sights and safely back to the ship. We really enjoyed the sights and the time we had at each stop. We saw far more on our tour than what was offered through Princess shore excursions. Lunch was probably larger than we required but it was very nice to try the local cuisine. I would definitely recommend your service. It was an exceptional tour and very good value for a private tour. Many thanks for all your organizing. Regards, Marj

We (I am American Caucasian and my wife, Shiony is Filipina) stayed in the Sunbee Hotel for four nights, which was centerally located to lots of shopping and eating places. It was a five star "in our book". I enjoyed all of the Korean food and especially their Soju wine. The Novaland Tour guides were very knowledgable and explained every stop we made with great detail. The planned program was also excellent and tailored to our desires. I wanted to see the DMZ area and found it to be the highlight of our stay for me. Korea is very modern and very clean. We felt safe as the Koreans were very friendly and extremely helpful when we got lost. But that is how you see new places and meet different people. In all, we were very pleased as this was our first time in Asian countries. Bob E, from California, USA

Hi Emma, Sorry for the late reply. Was busy this 2 weeks. Anyway how are you. Hope you are fine! We are very glad and happy with the tour arrangement. Everything went smoothly and glad that the local guides are friendly and helpful. Please read my remarks as below on your questions… 1. How is our service throughout your tour from any aspects you feel? Such as our travel consultant, tour guides, drivers or others’ attitude; hotels, transportation, scenic spots’ arrangement; and any other words you would like to say to me. - The arrangement of tour was great. Everything went smoothly. Flexible and no rush. - Local guides. a. Busan “Ms. Kim”: She was very friendly and we have a great time with her. She accompany us all the way during our tour. Her English is not the best but we don’t mind at all as we understand what she tell us. b. JeJu “Mr Victor” : I was surprise when I meet him at the airport. I was expecting a Korean local guide and when I meet him only get to know that he was a Russian who leave in Korea for more than 15 years. I don’t mind at all and was surprise that he is very informative especially in Jeju. He is very friendly and helpful and show us around during the tour. One thing I like to touch is that the transport “Van” is old but still comfortable. c. Seoul “Mr Yong” : I have to say this first. Among all the local guides. Myself and my friends specially likes Yong allot. He is friendly, patient, informative, funny and moreover he know what we want most. He will ask us what we would like to do especially on local foods in which we have not tried on Korea. I can say during our tour we treat him as a friend more than a local guide. Please do say HI to him for me!!! Local Operator “Ms. Emma” : Hi Emma. Thank you so much for your patient and guidance with us for planning our trip. I know that we have ask allot of things and change allot in our itinerary especially on hotels and also the quotation and we are glad that even we demand allot of things you show your patient and willingness to help in our planning of the tour. A million thanks to you. J You have really show your helping hand to us and we really appreciate it. Should have meet you in Seoul if I have a chance to treat you Caffe Bene J. Thank you again and hope can work with you again. 2. Where can we improve to be better and stronger? Operation side for planning and reverting emails and quotation I can say you are splendid in this field. The proposal was straight forward and informative. Local operator was helpful and show her concern on planning the trip. Not much I can say on this just keep up the great job. There is one thing that can improved which is during local flight check in and also boarding the KTX train . It will be great that information is provided on how and where to check in. For us we are able to manage and ask around but it will help allot if guidance is provided prior to check in. The KTX Train boarding ticket shown in local Korean language and we do not know where exactly to board the train until we are guide by other people. This will help allot if prior guidance is provided. 3. Any other valuable comments, travel experience and happy moments you may have. I think I have elaborate my experience as above. Overall I can say I’m happy with the service. Great job and keep it up. Will surely recommend to my friends and colleagues. Thank you and have a great day. Hope we can work again in the near future. Arik Kong
